Going a Little Batty

"I want to bite your neck."  Actually I want to invite you to play along this week at the Hambo Hoedown. This week the challenge is a Sketch challenge.  And the freebie, if you played along last week and used a Hambo image, is Fat Bat.  Having a sketch challenge can be fun because the layout is given to you.  I liked this sketch.

And here is what I made.

A Sassy Fall

"All the Leaves are Brown"..... Actually they are also turning Red and Orange and Yellow.  That is one of the things I like about living in this part of the country where we have 4 seasons. I like Fall (not just because my birthday was yesterday. hahaha), one reason is the cooler weather.  I'm sure a lot of the country will be glad to see the heat be over with after this past summer.  So that's the theme this week at  Sassy Studio Designs' Dare To Be Sassy Thursday (#196) "Fall Colors".
Here's what I created.

Popcorn Time

Let's all go to the mo-vies.  Let's all go to the mo-vies. Let's all go to the mo-vies. But first I'll join the Hoe-down.  I think you should do the same. Join the fun at the Hambo Hoedown. This week there's a new freebie if you played along (and used a Hambo image) last week.  This week the image is "Wee Henrietta Popcorn" She's so cute with her bucket of popcorn.  And this week's challenge is to "Pop up those designs with dimension".  This was pretty easy for me since I seem to always pop up my main image.  So I wanted to make something a little different.

Sentiment-Wee Henrietta Popcorn by Hambo Stamps

I decided to make a slid out card. I hand drew the popcorn and popped it up on the sentiment panel. I created the pattern for the popcorn box and cut it out of card stock.  I popped up Wee Henrietta on 2 layers of homemade black foam squares so it would be above the popcorn layer.  I also popped up Henrietta's hands and popcorn on more black foam squares.  This card has some dimension!

I am also entering my card in the challenge at
Paper Make Up Stamps- Digi Makeover Challenge #106 (Motion Card)

Fall is in the Air

One of the things I like about living in Pennsylvania is the changing of the seasons.  I'm not a big fan of hot summers. That is why I look forward to autumn. (plus my birthday is in September  hahaha)  I decided to play along this week at the {Pin}spirational Challenge.  I haven't played in a while. And wanted to get back into it.  Here is the Pinspirational image for this week.

And here is what I created.

Punch-Recollections mini leaf (red punch on right)

Inside sentiment-from Pinspirational image

The original image had snow flakes around it. I cut around the image and  popped up the image on homemade tan foam squares.  I added a smaller image and the wording from the Pinspirational image to the inside of the card. The piece of DP that I added to the inside says "FALLING".  But after it was cut, it kind of looks like tree branches with the leaves.

I hope I did okay after not playing along for awhile.

Beer Garden Girl

It's time for a new challenge at Paper Craft Planet. Have you been playing along and getting the monthly freebie. If you haven't, you've missed some great images.  This month's image(s) is "Lager Pin Up" or "Cheers Sassy".  And the challenge is "Oktoberfest" and runs from September 15th to October 14th. Head on over and get all the details. Here's what I created.

This is a large odd sized card.  It is 9 1/2" x 5". I placed the image close to the fold edge and cut around the areas that went past the fold. I fussy cut around the open edge. The inside sentiment and small image were laid out to print on the back of the card stock inside the cut edge.
This was a pretty simple card.
Now it's your turn. Grab a mug of your favorite beer (mine is A&W Root), a big soft pretzel, some sauerkraut and a bratwurst.  Have fun and create something.

Happy Hamster

Time for the newest weekly challenge at the Hambo Hoedown.  This week's challenge is to use "Decorative Scissors" on your project.  They always come up with some great and different challenges. And they make you dig out stuff that hasn't been used in awhile. One week's challenge was to use "eyelets".  And now it's "decorative scissors"! We all have them but they never get used.  After making this card, I see why I don't used them often.  I have a wooden rotating rack with 20 pair of scissors.  It never gets used.  I can never cut right with them.  But I broke them out for the challenge.

I paper pieced the hamsters shirt. (also DP from the Stack 8). The sentiment and image are popped up on homemade pink foam squares.
I thought it would be fun to color the hamster in pink.

So now it's your turn to break out and dust off those scissors that have been forgotten for so long.  Join in the fun.

Belle doesn't look too Shabby

Welcome.  It's time for another Dare To Be Sassy Thursday at Sassy Studio Designs.  This week the challenge (#194) is "Shabby Chic". When I saw this challenge I had to ask the other DT members what constituted "Shabby Chic".  Once I had some idea, I tried to incorporate the elements.  This was a tough one for me.  I don't usually put a lot of stuff on my projects.  Hope I did okay.

I popped up the panel with the ribbons and edging on homemade foam squares and popped the image panel up on another layer of foam squares.  I added a smaller image and more DP and ribbon on the inside of the card.
Well that's my take on "Shabby Chic". Comment and let me know how I did.  Then let's see what you create. After you comment, head over to Sassy Studio Designs and join the fun.
Thanx for looking.
